The stuff they forget to mention
What nobody tells you about parenthood and the gear that helps
Nobody tells you about the snot. Or the boogers. Or the fact that cutting a newborn's nails is genuinely terrifying.
Nobody mentions what happens to your body after birth, the bits that are sore, swollen, and in serious need of some TLC. Frida does.
We make the products that handle the parts of parenting everyone knows about but nobody talks about, honestly, without sugarcoating it, and with enough humour to get through the hard bits.
Frida Baby takes care of the small humans. Frida Mom (because mums need gear too) takes care of the person who made them.

Because the person who made the baby deserves gear too
The fourth trimester is real. The soreness is real. The "what is happening to my body" is very, very real.
Frida Mom makes the postpartum essentials they should include in every antenatal class but don't.
Labour & delivery
You've packed nappies and onesies. Now pack for yourself. The Hospital Labour & Delivery Kit has everything you need for labour and those first raw hours after.
All this in one bag.
Postpartum Recovery
Ice pads. Cooling foam. Disposable undies with a waistband that doesn't dig into a c-section scar.
This is the stuff that actually helps and your body will thank you for it.
Perineal care
The peri bottle is the postpartum essential nobody puts on the registry until they've had a baby. Then they tell every pregnant person they know.
Consider this your heads up.

How Does the NoseFrida Work?
The NoseFrida (also called a snot sucker) uses gentle suction to clear your baby's blocked nose. You place the large tip against your baby's nostril — not inside it — and use the mouthpiece to create suction by breathing in gently.
A hygienic filter sits inside the tube and stops any mucus from getting anywhere near your mouth. It sounds alarming. It works brilliantly. Parents who were horrified the first time they heard about it are usually the most devoted converts six months later.
The NoseFrida is safe for newborns and can be used multiple times per day when your bub has a cold.
Is the NoseFrida Safe for Newborns?
Yes — the NoseFrida is safe from birth. The tip sits gently against the outside of the nostril, never inside it, so there's no risk of pushing anything further in or causing discomfort. The suction is controlled entirely by you, which makes it far gentler than a bulb aspirator.
The filter inside the tube means nothing gets anywhere near your mouth. Ever. That's the question everyone asks first, and the answer is a hard no.
Newborns breathe primarily through their noses, so a blocked nose is more than just uncomfortable — it affects feeding and sleep. Clearing it safely matters. The NoseFrida is used in hospitals and recommended by paediatricians and midwives across Australia.
If your newborn is consistently congested, has trouble breathing, or seems unwell, always check in with your GP or child health nurse.
What Is a Peri Bottle and Why Do I Need One After Birth?
A peri bottle (short for perineal bottle) is a squirt bottle used to rinse your perineal area after going to the toilet following a vaginal birth. After delivery, the perineum, the area between the vaginal opening and the anus, is often sore, swollen, and possibly stitched. Using toilet paper can be painful and irritating. Warm water from a peri bottle provides gentle, comfortable cleaning instead.
The Frida Mom Peri Bottle has an angled nozzle so you can reach easily without contorting yourself — which matters a lot in the first days after birth when movement is uncomfortable. Fill it with warm water before you sit down, and rinse after every toilet visit. Your midwife or hospital will likely recommend one — we've just made it easier to use.
What Should I Pack in My Hospital Bag for Postpartum Recovery?
Most Australian hospital bag lists focus on the baby, nappies, onesies, wraps. Far fewer mention what you'll need for yourself in the hours and days after birth. Here's what the Frida Mom range covers that you'll genuinely thank yourself for:
Peri bottle — for comfortable post-toilet rinsing. Instant Ice Maxi Pads — activate with a bend for soothing cold relief, no freezer needed. Perineal Foam — witch hazel-infused spray for swelling and soreness. Cooling Pad Liners — layer into any pad for targeted relief. Disposable underwear — high-waist or boyshort, both designed to hold a postpartum pad without pressure on a c-section scar.
The Frida Mom Hospital Labor & Delivery Kit bundles the essentials together, worth packing it well before your due date.
What Is the Fourth Trimester?
The fourth trimester refers to the first three months after birth, a period of enormous physical and emotional adjustment for both baby and the person who gave birth. While much of the focus naturally goes to the newborn, the birthing parent's body is also going through a significant recovery process that's often underacknowledged.
Physically, this can include perineal soreness and healing (after vaginal birth), c-section scar recovery, postpartum bleeding (lochia), breast engorgement, and hormonal shifts. Emotionally, it's a significant transition, exhaustion, the baby blues, and sometimes postnatal depression are all real parts of this period.
Frida Mom's postpartum range is designed specifically for the fourth trimester, the tools that make recovery more manageable so you can focus on the baby and yourself. If you're struggling emotionally postpartum, please reach out to your GP, midwife, or PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia) on 1300 726 306.

Can You Get Sick From Using the NoseFrida?
No — when used correctly with a clean filter, the NoseFrida's hygienic design prevents mucus from travelling up the tube toward the mouthpiece. The filter acts as a barrier between the collection chamber and the tube you breathe through.
The key is to replace the filter regularly (after each use during illness) and to never use the NoseFrida without a filter in place. Clean the collection tube after each use with warm soapy water. Parents with compromised immune systems should take extra care with hygiene and consult their doctor if concerned.
